The special edition was sold exclusively in Germany and had its turbocharged 2.0-liter engine dialed to 328 horsepower. The Golf R 333 was a follow-up to the 2022 Golf R 20 Years Edition and was offered strictly as a five-door hatchback. Despite the high price, make/model loyalty trumped technical specifications, and the limited edition sold out quickly.
