Toyota recalls 1 million vehicles in US for air bag and short circuit issues

Toyota is recalling 1 million vehicles, including models such as Avalon, Camry, Highlander, RAV4, Sienna, and Corolla, as well as some Lexus models, due to a defect that could cause airbags not to deploy. The recall is prompted by improperly manufactured sensors in the front passenger seat, which may short circuit and prevent the airbag system from accurately determining the occupant's weight, potentially leading to non-deployment in certain crashes. Toyota and Lexus dealers will inspect and replace the sensors if necessary, with no cost to owners.
