Honda Issues Large Recall on CR-Vs and Accords Linked to Exploding Tire-Sealant Bottles

Honda is recalling 1,049,883 CR-V and Accord models (2023–2026 CR-V Hybrid, 2025–2026 CR-V Fuel Cell EV, and 2023–2026 Accord Hybrid) due to a tire-sealant bottle cap that can detach or explode if not connected properly; Honda will replace the nozzle or bottle with a two-way valve and has updated production of the kit by May 2026. There have been eight injuries and 53 warranty claims associated with the issue, and the recall followed a long investigation by NHTSA that identified the fault in the tire repair kit.
