Walmart is expanding its drone delivery service to 1.8 million additional households in North Texas, covering 75% of households in the Dallas and Fort Worth area, making it the first retailer to offer drone delivery to this many households in a single market. The drones, operated by Wing and Zipline, can deliver items within 30 minutes. Walmart's rapid expansion aims to compete with Amazon, which has also been expanding its Prime Air drone delivery program in the U.S. and internationally.
