Amazon's Cloud Computing Unit AWS Slashes Hundreds of Jobs

Amazon is cutting hundreds of jobs in its cloud computing unit AWS as part of a strategic shift, with "a few hundred roles" being trimmed in the technology team for physical stores and "several hundred roles" in the AWS sales, marketing, and global service organization. The company stated that these decisions are necessary to invest in other business priorities and will continue to hire in priority areas while attempting to find internal opportunities for affected employees.
