Brave Butcher Rescues Autistic Employee from Violent Thief in NYC: NYPD

A heroic supermarket butcher in Queens, NYC, intervened when a thief attempted to rob the store and then assaulted his autistic co-worker. Ray Wilkins, the butcher, witnessed the attacker repeatedly punching his co-worker and immediately stepped in to defend him. Wilkins managed to restrain the assailant until NYPD transit officers arrived and arrested him. The suspect, identified as Jack Crumbley, has a history of violent crimes and was wanted for a previous unprovoked attack. Wilkins, determined not to let the assailant escape, pursued him and alerted the police. Crumbley was charged with robbery, assault, and harassment.
