Canadian 'Crypto King' Allegedly Kidnapped and Tortured in Connection to Investment Scam

Aiden Pleterski, a Canadian crypto trader accused of scamming investors out of tens of millions of dollars, was allegedly kidnapped and tortured for three days in December 2020. According to a trustee report related to bankruptcy proceedings against him, Pleterski spent almost $16 million on luxury cars, private jets, and vacations instead of investing the money. He allegedly begged his landlord to pay $3 million in ransom during his kidnapping. The identities of the alleged kidnappers and any arrests made have not been disclosed.
