Elizabeth Holmes begins 11-year prison sentence in Texas.

Elizabeth Holmes, the disgraced CEO of Theranos, is set to begin her 11-year sentence for fraud at a federal prison camp in Bryan, Texas. Holmes was convicted on four felony counts of fraud and conspiracy in January 2022. She will be leaving behind two young children, a son born in July 2021 and a 3-month old daughter. Holmes and her former partner, Ramesh "Sunny" Balwani, promised to revolutionize healthcare with a technology that could quickly scan for diseases with a few drops of blood taken with a finger prick. However, serious flaws in Theranos' technology were exposed, leading to the company's collapse and criminal charges against Holmes and Balwani.
