Real estate scams on the rise in Chautauqua County.

Scammers are targeting real estate agents in Payson, Arizona, by impersonating landowners and trying to trick realtors into selling their properties. The scammers are asking for cash-only transactions and only communicating via email or phone, never wanting to meet in person. The Arizona Association of REALTORS warns that this scam is not isolated to Payson. Police say there were similarities in both cases, and the paperwork was e-signed via email.
