Realtor fired after in-flight racist outburst leads to arrest

A 67-year-old Arizona real estate agent, Layne Arthur Lundeen, was arrested in Maryland after an American Airlines flight from Dallas diverted to Baltimore due to a disruptive passenger who allegedly hurled racial slurs; he was duct-taped and zip-tied to a seat by fellow travelers. Long Realty severed its affiliation with him, stating his conduct did not reflect the company’s values. Lundeen faces disorderly conduct and second-degree assault charges and was scheduled to appear in court in October.
