FBI and International Law Enforcement Shut Down Cybercrime Markets in Joint Operation.

The FBI has seized several domain names associated with Genesis Market, a cybercrime store that sold access to stolen data from millions of infected computers. The seizure coincided with dozens of arrests in the US and abroad targeting those who allegedly operated the service, as well as suppliers who continuously fed Genesis Market with freshly-stolen data. Genesis Market had more than 450,000 bots for sale as of March 2023, and customers could purchase bots with access to victims' authentication cookies, allowing them to access online accounts without passwords. Genesis and other bot shops are popular among cybercriminals who work to identify and purchase bots inside corporate networks, and then resell that access to ransomware gangs.
