Miguel's Cocina reopens following E. coli outbreak

Miguel's Cocina, a popular Mexican chain restaurant in San Diego, reopened after voluntarily closing for ten days due to an E. coli outbreak that infected at least 35 people. The restaurant implemented measures to ensure food safety, including disinfection, replacing all food, and providing additional food handler training. While no ongoing risks were identified, some patrons remain hesitant to return. Two lawsuits have been filed against the parent company, Brigantine Restaurants. The county is still investigating the source of the infections, and attorney Ron Simon hopes the litigation will shed light on how the contamination occurred.
