The wife of a veteran mail carrier who died on his route during a Texas heat wave is speaking out, urging the Postal Service to take better precautions to protect its workers. Eugene Gates, 66, collapsed and died while delivering mail in 110-degree heat. His cause of death is still being determined. The National Association of Letter Carriers issued a statement mourning Gates, who had worked for the Postal Service for more than 30 years.
