The National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) has issued a decision that allows unions to represent workers without a formal vote, providing a victory for unions. The new framework created by the NLRB requires employers to recognize a new union or promptly file for an election when the union demonstrates majority support. If an employer violates labor law during the election process, the petition will be dismissed, and the employer will be ordered to recognize and bargain with the union. However, the NLRB did not outlaw "captive audience meetings," which are often used in anti-union campaigns by employers.
