Virgin Islands allowed to sue JPMorgan Chase over Epstein sex trafficking allegations

JPMorgan Chase and Deutsche Bank's motions to dismiss three lawsuits claiming they knowingly benefited from participating in Jeffrey Epstein's sex trafficking scheme have been partially denied by a New York federal judge. The U.S. Virgin Islands and Epstein's accusers can proceed with their lawsuits against JPMorgan, while parts of a similar lawsuit against Deutsche Bank can also proceed. The judge sustained claims that JPMorgan "knowingly benefited from participating in a sex trafficking venture" led by Epstein and that the bank obstructed enforcement of the Trafficking Victims Protection Act. Epstein killed himself in a Manhattan jail cell in 2019 while awaiting trial on federal child sex trafficking charges.
