Record-breaking Mega Millions jackpot won by US lottery player

A winning ticket in Florida has matched all the numbers to win a $1.58bn Mega Millions lottery jackpot, making it the third largest in US history. The winning ticket was sold at a supermarket in Neptune Beach, and the identity of the winner has not yet been revealed. The prize can be claimed as a lump sum of $783m or as an annuity paid out over 30 years. Florida law allows winners to remain anonymous for 90 days, but their name, city of residence, and amount won must be disclosed to third parties upon request.
