Mexican marines seize control of private rail line.

The Mexican government has sent marines to occupy a section of railroad operated by private conglomerate Grupo Mexico Transportes, as part of its efforts to update a rail-to-sea network on the Isthmus of Tehuantepec. The government has promised to compensate the company for the seizure, which involves approximately 120km of rail. This is not the first time the López Obrador administration has been accused of seizing transportation infrastructure for government use. The incident has prompted concerns about the treatment of private companies in Mexico.
