Authorities Investigate Tesla for Alleged Data Privacy Violations.

The Dutch data protection watchdog is investigating possible data breaches by Tesla after a whistleblower leaked 100 gigabytes of confidential data, including customer and employee information. The German state of Brandenburg's data protection office described the leak as "massive" and handed the case to the Dutch authorities. The leaked files include tables containing more than 100,000 names of former and current employees, including the social security number of Tesla CEO Elon Musk, along with private email addresses, phone numbers, salaries of employees, bank details of customers, and secret details from production. If a violation of GDPR is proved, Tesla could be fined up to 4% of its annual sales, which could be 3.26 billion euros.
