Charlie Bell's Unleashed Potential Poses Threat to Amazon in Tech Industry.

Charlie Bell, a co-founder of Amazon Web Services (AWS), joined Microsoft 18 months ago to work on cybersecurity. His noncompete agreement with Amazon has recently expired, giving Microsoft the opportunity to unleash him against his former employer. Bell is known for his deep technical knowledge and ability to cut through bureaucracy. He has made operational changes at Microsoft, including introducing Amazon's "OP1" operational plans and "PR/FAQ" development documents. Bell has also combined the security teams from Microsoft's Office 365 business and the Azure cloud operation to better fend off cyberhackers. Microsoft will have to shed its aversion to outsiders, and cloud leaders will have to embrace Bell to seize the opportunity.
