Cruise Self-Driving Car Stuck in San Francisco Construction Site

A driverless Cruise car drove into a construction site on Mission Street in San Francisco, despite hazard signs and a construction worker signaling to stop. The car eventually stopped and was followed by police officers. San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency officials stated that driverless cars are often confused by construction sites. When confused, the cars stop and turn on hazard lights until an employee intervenes. Cruise acknowledged the issue and stated that they are continuously working on improvements. Last week, Cruise and Waymo received approval to expand their robotaxi services in San Francisco.
