Elon Musk Urges A.I. Regulation to Avoid Catastrophic Impact.

Elon Musk agrees that the impact of artificial intelligence (AI) will hit people "like an asteroid" and reveals that he used his only one-on-one meeting with then President Barack Obama to push for AI regulation. Musk is reportedly developing plans to launch an AI startup, dubbed X.AI, to compete against Microsoft-backed OpenAI. He has long believed oversight for AI is necessary, having described the technology as "potentially more dangerous than nukes."
