Former Apple Engineer Charged with Stealing Self-Driving Car Tech for China

Weibo Wang, an executive at Baidu's electric vehicle subsidiary, Jidu, has been charged with stealing Apple's self-driving technology. Wang, who previously worked at Apple, is accused of accessing the company's confidential databases before leaving and accepting employment at a US-based subsidiary of a Chinese company working on self-driving cars. The US Department of Justice has indicted Wang for "theft and attempted theft" of Apple's autonomous driving tech. This is not the first time Apple has caught employees stealing trade secrets related to its car project.
