Google Settles Location Tracking Lawsuit for $93 Million

Google has agreed to pay $93 million to settle claims made by the state of California that it tracked the location of users without their knowledge. The settlement requires Google to provide more information about the location data it collects and to disclose that this data may be used for ad personalization. The investigation found that Google deceived users by continuing to collect and store location data even when users disabled the "Location History" setting. This settlement follows similar lawsuits from other states, with Google paying a total of $392 million to settle 40 lawsuits related to its location tracking feature.
