Twitch to Cease Operations in South Korea by 2024

Twitch has announced that it will be shutting down its services in South Korea on February 27, 2024, citing the prohibitively expensive cost of operating in the country. Despite efforts to reduce costs, Twitch's network fees in Korea remain 10 times higher than in other countries, leading to significant losses. Streamers based in Korea will no longer be able to access monetization features offered by Twitch products, with the final payout date set for March 16. Affiliates and Partners based in Korea will be off-boarded from Twitch on June 4.
