Young Adults Question AI CEOs as Trust in Tech Dwindles

A CNBC Generation Labs survey of over 1,000 US adults aged 18–34 finds near-universal distrust of nine AI company leaders, with Satya Nadella the most trusted (35%) and Alex Karp the least (81% don’t trust). Peter Thiel, Mark Zuckerberg, Elon Musk, and Sam Altman also see high levels of distrust. The results reflect concerns about data privacy, platform decay, and democracy, while 45% expect AI to negatively affect careers and 40% want government regulation; 60% say data-center expansion should slow. Overall, AI and its infrastructure are viewed more favorably than the tech billionaires who lead them.
