Federal Government Grants $3 Billion for SoCal-to-Vegas Bullet Train

The high-speed rail project connecting Las Vegas to Southern California has received a $3 billion grant from the Biden Administration. Brightline West plans to begin construction in 2024 and hopes to have regular high-speed rail service by 2027. The estimated $12 billion project will connect Las Vegas to Rancho Cucamonga, with a new transit center allowing transfers onto Metrolink. The federal grant received bipartisan support and is one of the largest funding allocations for high-speed rail in the nation's history. The project is expected to reduce traffic, increase tourism revenue, and decrease carbon emissions. Additionally, the California High-Speed Rail Authority has also been awarded a significant federal funding grant.
