Preparing for a SEPTA Strike: Navigating Philly's Transportation Challenges

Transit Workers Union 234 (TWU) members have voted to approve a potential labor strike, which could impact SEPTA services starting November 1, 2023. The City of Philadelphia is encouraging residents and businesses to prepare for alternate travel methods such as carpooling, regional rail, walking, and biking. SEPTA Regional Rail Lines, SEPTA Customized Community Transportation (CCT) service, and certain bus and trolley routes will continue to operate. The Philadelphia Parking Authority will relax parking restrictions, and free parking is available at SEPTA-owned lots. Indego, Philly's bike share program, will increase operational efforts and provide reduced fares. Voters are reminded to apply for mail-in ballots ahead of the November 7 Municipal Election.
