Schiphol Airport to Ban Private Jets and Implement Curfew

Amsterdam's Schiphol Airport has proposed a ban on private jets as part of a series of measures to reduce air traffic and create a "quieter, cleaner and better" system. The airport argues that private jets cause a disproportionate amount of noise nuisance and CO2 emissions per passenger. Plans for a new runway have also been scrapped, and there will be no aircraft landing or taking off between midnight and 5 a.m. local time. The airport also pledged to put aside 10 million euros a year for an "environmental fund for the local area."
