More than 3,500 bidders from 34 countries vied for Elton John's personal items, including a 1990 Bentley Continental Convertible that sold for $441,000, far exceeding its high estimate of $35,000, at Christie’s “Goodbye Peachtree Road” auction, which raked in $14.4 million over three days. The collection, including rocket-shaped cocktail shakers and flamboyant fashion pieces, surpassed the high estimate of $11.3 million. Additionally, Banksy's "Flower Thrower Triptych" fetched the top price of $1.9 million. John and his husband, David Furnish, plan to offload around 900 items from their Atlanta home, with most auctions taking place online through Feb. 28.
