Widow's Bay Dominates Emmys 2026 with Comedy Sweep and Historic Wins

Widow's Bay dominated the 78th Primetime Emmys with a record-breaking haul in the comedy categories (including outstanding comedy series and acting wins for Kate O’Flynn and Stephen Root) and additional writing/directing honors for creator Katie Dippold, while The Pitt won outstanding drama. Matthew Rhys made Emmys history by winning lead actor in two categories in the same year (for The Pitt and The Beast in Me). The night also featured emotional tributes to Rob and Michele Reiner and a Taylor Swift cameo, with Mariska Hargitay hosting.
