Charles Bronson's bid for freedom denied, supporters outraged.

Charles Bronson, the United Kingdom's most notorious and violent prisoner, has been denied parole by a panel who rejected his claim that he is safe to be released. Bronson, who has spent nearly half a century in jail, was given a life sentence for kidnapping a prison teacher during a siege at Hull Prison in 1999. The panel noted his "prolonged period of improved behavior" but also his history of rule-breaking and said his ability to manage his risk outside prison "had yet to be tested".
