Fentanyl dealer pleads guilty in Michael K. Williams' fatal overdose case.

Irvin Cartagena pleaded guilty to conspiring to distribute fentanyl-laced heroin that killed actor Michael K. Williams. Cartagena stipulated that the substances he possessed with distribution intent resulted in the actor's death. A drug trafficking organization operated in Brooklyn between August 2020 and February 2022, distributing fentanyl-laced heroin and a fentanyl analogue. Four individuals were arrested in connection to Williams' death, including Cartagena, who was detained in Puerto Rico. The charge carries a minimum sentence of five years, with a maximum sentence of 40 years.
