TL;DR
The HBO Max series Heated Rivalry has sparked a surge of interest in queer hockey leagues, especially NYC’s Pride Hockey Alliance, drawing hundreds of fans, increasing memberships (roughly 300 players with broad gender/sexual diversity), and boosting financial support through a $40,000-a-year scholarship fund to help players cover gear and fees, with similar upticks in other cities.
