Being Heumann: TIFF Opens Siân Heder’s Judy Heumann Biopic

Apple Original Films has released a teaser for Being Heumann, Siân Heder’s disability‑rights drama about Judy Heumann starring Ruth Madeley. Based on Heumann’s memoir, the film centers on the 1977 sit‑in that helped trigger Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act and will world premiere as TIFF’s opening‑night film on September 10. Mark Ruffalo plays the bureaucrat blocking the protesters, with Dylan O’Brien, Jon Beavers, Rob Delaney and Ray Fisher in supporting roles; it expands to select theaters November 6 and Apple TV+ on November 13.
