Disney+'s Wonder Man Gets the Axe After Season 2 Renewal

Variety reports that Wonder Man has been canceled at Disney+ despite Disney announcing a Season 2 renewal in March; no Season 2 writers’ room was opened and the writing team has been released to pursue other projects. The series, led by Yahya Abdul-Mateen II and Ben Kingsley and created by Destin Daniel Cretton and Andrew Guest, debuted to strong critical praise (92% on Rotten Tomatoes) but Disney has not released viewership data, and officials say the characters could appear in other Marvel projects even though Wonder Man will not return for a second season.
