Actress Elle Fanning revealed on a podcast that she lost a major franchise role because she didn't have enough Instagram followers at the time. Fanning, who has over 6 million followers now, said she doesn't believe in not getting a part because of social media following. However, she added that being part of a big franchise can help actors breathe better and is open to taking such roles. Sophie Turner had previously shared a similar experience in 2017, where she got a role over a "far better" actress because of her Instagram followers.
