Bailey recently spoke about the racist messages she received after being cast as Ariel, but also expressed how heartwarming it was to see young fans react positively to a black woman portraying a Disney princess. Despite the hate, Bailey chose to focus on the more heartening responses to her casting, including videos of young black children excitedly reacting to her first appearance as Ariel.
