The Apple TV+ series "Masters of the Air" largely sticks to the facts about the lives of its American protagonists from the 100th Bomber Group in World War II, with real veterans as the basis for the major characters. The show accurately depicts the intense danger of B-17 bomber missions and the experiences of American prisoners of war in German camps, but leaves out the little-discussed treatment of airmen by the Swiss.
