McDonald recalls devastating breakup when Geena Davis left him for Jeff Goldblum

Christopher McDonald says he was absolutely devastated when Geena Davis ended their engagement to marry Jeff Goldblum, a split that happened during the 1985 filming of Transylvania 6-5000; the news came via Ed Begley Jr. while he was still rehearsing Hamlet, and although McDonald and Davis later worked together on Thelma & Louise, Davis and Goldblum married in 1987 and divorced after three years. McDonald went on to marry Lupe Gidley in 1992 and they have four kids.
