"The Idol": Sam Levinson and The Weeknd's New Series Now Streaming on Max

"The Idol," a new HBO series from "Euphoria" creator Sam Levinson and The Weeknd, premieres on Max this Sunday. The show follows a manipulative cult leader (played by The Weeknd) as he preys on an unsuspecting young pop singer (played by Lily-Rose Depp). The series has generated buzz for its explicit nudity and sexually graphic content, as well as reports of on-set turmoil. Despite this, it received a five-minute standing ovation at Cannes.
