OB-GYN's TikTok on Older Parenthood Goes Viral

OB-GYN Christine Noa Sterling's TikTok video about the benefits of being an older parent has gone viral. Sterling explains that having older parents can be hard, but there are advantages to having children later in life, including increased longevity, reduced risk of injuries, and improved health and development. While there is an increased risk of chromosomal abnormalities in advanced maternal age, there is also a possibility that the chromosomes are normal, and there is a decreased risk of birth defects in advanced maternal-age pregnancies. Sterling suggests considering freezing your eggs if you're able to and talking to your doctor to explore your options and learn more about fertility.
