Yarl's GoFundMe page has raised over $2.7 million. Andrew Lester, the homeowner who shot Yarl, has been charged with felony assault and armed criminal action, but is not yet in police custody. The shooting is being labeled as a hate crime and has sparked outrage and calls for justice from public figures. President Joe Biden has also reached out to the Yarl family.
