IATSE Unites Thousands of Freelance TV Commercial Production Workers in Historic Unionization Effort

Over 5,000 freelance TV commercial production workers have signed authorization cards to unionize with IATSE, under the grassroots movement "Stand With Production." The Association of Independent Commercial Producers (AICP) has agreed to voluntarily recognize them for collective bargaining. The workers aim to address issues such as low pay, long hours, lack of benefits, and limited safety and training. This move marks the largest contingent of production department workers and entry-level production assistants within IATSE.
