Mountain Lion Spotted Near SF Panhandle; City Monitors Wildlife

A mountain lion was spotted in the Panhandle near Fell and Baker Streets by Golden Gate Park on Saturday night. SF Recreation & Parks officials confirmed the sighting, and Animal Care & Control responded; residents were advised to back away and to call 415-554-9400 for sightings. The alert was lifted by Sunday morning, and officials noted that mountain lions are seen in SF regularly and most sightings do not lead to relocation, as animals typically find their way back to the wild.
