Mississippi News Anchor Fired for Quoting Snoop Dogg Lyric on Air

Barbie Bassett, a Mississippi journalist and meteorologist, has not appeared on air since early March after using a racially insensitive term from a Snoop Dogg lyric on air. Bassett was reprimanded in October 2022 for insensitive comments and apologized at the time.
