James Gunn Takes on Superman in 'Legacy'

James Gunn will direct "Superman: Legacy," which he also wrote, for DC Studios. The film will focus on Superman balancing his Kryptonian heritage with his human upbringing. The project is dated for July 11, 2025, and will not feature Henry Cavill as Superman. Gunn's previous work includes Marvel's "Guardians of the Galaxy" and DC's "The Suicide Squad." "Superman: Legacy" is part of an overarching story told via different TV shows and films, dubbed Chapter 1: God and Monsters.
