Chad Gilbert, Founding Guitarist of New Found Glory, Dies at 45

Chad Gilbert, founding guitarist of New Found Glory, died at 45 after a battle with brain tumors that led to metastatic pheochromocytoma upgraded to stage 4 adrenocortical carcinoma; his wife Lisa Cimorelli announced he passed away peacefully in his sleep following emergency brain surgery in March. Gilbert formed NFG in 1997 and helped shape pop-punk over nearly three decades, also producing for other bands; he is survived by his wife, their daughter Lily, his mother and brother.
