Def Leppard Drummer Rick Allen Gives Health Update After Florida Attack

Def Leppard drummer Rick Allen has released a statement thanking fans for their support following a violent attack in South Florida on March 13. Allen was reportedly attacked by a teenager outside the Four Seasons Hotel in Fort Lauderdale Beach, FL, a day after Def Leppard performed in the area. The statement asks for compassion and empathy and says that Allen and his wife are working on recovering in a safe space. The teen, who was not previously acquainted with Allen, has been arrested and charged with multiple offenses. Allen lost his arm in a 1984 automobile accident and re-taught himself to play drums with just his right arm and both feet.
