Glen Hansard's Family Announces Public Wake and Dublin Cathedral Funeral

Glen Hansard’s family has shared memorial plans following his death: a public wake on Monday, August 3, at the Baroque Chapel in IMMA, Royal Hospital Kilmainham, Dublin 8, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., with the singer lying in repose; and a public funeral on Tuesday, August 4, at 1:30 p.m. at St. Patrick’s Cathedral, Dublin 8, though cathedral access will be tightly limited. Music at the funeral will be provided by Hansard’s friends and family, and a public address system will be used outside the cathedral due to crowd size; the ceremony will be broadcast live on RTÉ News and RIP.ie. In lieu of flowers, mourners are asked to donate to Dublin’s Simon Community or Ukrainian Action.
