Nashville's Love Rising Benefit Concert Highlights LGBTQ+ Rights and Representation.

Maren Morris, Hayley Williams, Hozier, and other Nashville-based stars performed at the "Love Rising" benefit concert in Nashville to protest recent state legislation aimed at cross-dressing performers, trans youth, and same-sex marriage. The four-hour concert was also livestreamed to an international audience. Morris performed her crossover hit "The Middle" while drag queen Alexia Noelle Paris accompanied her in an interpretive dance. The concert also featured speeches from Nashville mayor John Cooper and singer-songwriter Brittany Howard. Hozier sang his biggest hit, "Take Me to Church," and dedicated another song, "Nina Cried Power," to event co-organizer Allison Russell.
